Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 13 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre for Carol Meyer who died on Sunday, November 23 at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins from the effects of Alzheimer's Disease. Rev. James Statz will officiate with inurnment following in St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Carol Meyer was born in Westport Township, Pope County to Albert and Anna (Nugent) Cordell. On January 7, 1945 she married John Meyer at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. In 1998 the couple moved to Monticello and for the past two and one-half years she had resided at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.
She is survived by husband, John Meyer of Monticello; three sons, John (Blythe) Meyer of Grand Ronde, Oregon, Tom (Joann) Meyer of Eden Prairie, Jim Meyer of Minnetonka; daughter-in-law, Sue Meyer of Carver; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Don (Betty) Cordell of Longmont, Colorado, Jim (Vida) Cordell of Mesa, Arizona, Shirley (Larry) Pierson of Plymouth, Jan Mealer of Eden Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Pat Meyer; brother and sister, Vern Cordell and Marilyn Bachman. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60611.
