Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Lawrence Dockendorf, age 90, who died Friday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and from 9:00 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Narthex of St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring. The St. Joseph's Society will pray a rosary at 4:00 p.m. with the Cold Spring American Legion saying a prayer at 6:00 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home.
Lawrence was born in Eden Valley, MN to Matthew and Christina (Oster) Dockendorf. He married Pauline Meyer on April 11, 1944 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Richmond, MN. Lawrence was a mechanic at Cold Spring Granite Company for 30+ years. He loved fishing, playing cards and dancing. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, St. Joseph's Society, Cold Spring American Legion. Lawrence was an usher for St. Boniface Church, volunteered at the John Paul Apartments and Assumption Nursing Home for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline; children, Al (Karen) and Reene (Frank) Schreiner of Cold Spring, Patt (Clarence) Klocker, Jr. and Nick (Gail) of Sartell, Neecy (Ron) Terhaar of Richmond, Lee (Kathy) of Andover, Rich (Cheryl) of St. Cloud; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike; sisters, Viola and Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; brothers, Alex, Gilbert, John and Leo; half-brother, Albert Neis; sisters, Betty and Olivia.
