Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose for Virgil Rademacher who died Wednesday, March 16 at the Melrose Area Hospital. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 - 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Virgil Rademacher was born November 4, 1913 in Crocus, North Dakota to John and Anna (Froehler) Rademacher. He was united in marriage to Theresa Zierden on October 28, 1941 in New Munich. They farmed five miles south of New Munich in St. Martin Township. They retired and moved to Melrose in 1984. Virgil enjoyed fishing, traveling playing cards and most of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.

Survivors include his children, Rich and Karen Rademacher, of New Munich, Lenny and Dianne Rade-macher, of Avon, Harold and Joan Rademacher, of Greenwald, Gene and Betty Rademacher, of Melrose, Bernice and Ron Olmscheid, of Lake Henry, Joyce and Albert Yarke, of Meire Grove, Norman Rademacher, of New Munich, Chuck Rademacher, of Cold Spring and Debbie and Philip Schmiesing, of St. Martin; 31 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ralph and Dorothy Rademacher, of New Munich, Sylverius and Beatrice Rademacher, of Meire Grove, Beatrice Funk, of New Munich, and Marietta Mueller, of Upsala.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, wife Theresa on July 23, 2004, brother, Vernon Rademacher and sisters Eileen Kuhl and Aurelia Feldewerd and granddaughter, Trista Yarke.
