Cornelius Edward Gude

Cornelius E. Gude GUDE, Cornelius E., 90, of the St. Joseph Community, Fla., passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at his home. He was born August 16, 1914, in the St. Joseph Community to Edward F. Gude and Florence Nathe Gude. He graduated in 1935 from St. Leo Prep School, where he was a member of the baseball team. He was a member of the agriculture community, active in farming, growing citrus, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he held the distinction of being the oldest lifelong parishioner.
He is survived by nine daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and Marvin Adams, Dade City, Fla., Marcella and Mack Holmes, Inverness, Fla., Mary Ellen and Durwood Bullington, Dade City, Fla., Sharon and David Ross, Zephyrhills, Fla., Evelyn and Mickey Brewington, Lakeland, Fla., Cindy and Dicky Brown, Dade City, Fla., Peggy and Truman Campbell, Dade City, Fla., Jane and Bert Muscarella, Loveland, Colo., and Bertha Golz, Friendswood, Texas; four sisters, Bernadine Roller, Bro oksville, Fla., Ronnie Arantz, Largo, Fla., Alice Orlowicz, Dade City, Fla., and Theresa Gude, Dade City, Fla.; three brothers, Edward Gude, St. Joe, Fla., Val Gude, Richmond, Va., and Tony Gude, Zephyrhills, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marie; one grandson, Kevin Golz; one son-in-law, Brian Golz; one brother, Caser Gude; and four sisters, Rita Gant, Rosalie Ullrick, Liz Jones Ulrey and Mary Ann Grimm. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father John Murphy as celebrant. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.
