Sister Rosaire Pratschner, 83, died at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud, on June 17, 2002. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21 at St. Benedict's Monastery chapel. Burial will be in the monastery cemetery. There will be visitation at St. Scholastica Convent beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20. There will also be visitation at St. Benedict's beginning with a Vigil Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Friends may call at St. Benedict's Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
Sister Rosaire was born to Andrew and Anne (Hoffman) Pratschner on May 31,1919 in Albany, MN. She entered St. Benedict's Monastery on July 2, 1941, and made her final vows on July 1,1945. Sister Rosaire graduated from the College of Saint Benedict and taught in elementary schools for 40 years in St. Joseph, St. Paul, Long Prairie, St. Cloud, Richmond, Red Lake, Lastrup and Cold Spring. She retired to St. Scholastica Convent in 1998.
Sister Rosaire is survived by her Benedictine community, two brothers (Joseph, Albany; and John, Willmar) and four sisters (Mrs. Rosamond Harren, St. Cloud; Mrs. Betty Fuchs, Mpls; Mrs. Joan Krebs and Florence Pratschner, Albany). She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
