Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spring Hill for Christopher Welle who died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Saturday, January 27 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. Michaels Mens Society will pray at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Christopher Welle was born November 22, 1988 in Melrose to Jim Chico and Kathy (Lieser) Welle. He attended Melrose High School and is part of the graduating class of 2007. He was on the varsity baseball team. Chris was on the Spring Hill Legion Team and joined the Spring Hill Chargers. He was accepted at St. Cloud Technical College for land surveying. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spring Hill. Chris lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and baseball. He liked to putz with things and was very helpful on the family farm.
Survivors include his parents, Jim Chico and Kathy Welle of Spring Hill; brothers, Kurt, Travis, and Derek all of Spring Hill; grandparents, Bernice Welle of Spring Hill and Ronald and Lucille Lieser of Lake Henry; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friend, Emily. Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Welle on September 12, 2003.
