Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, November 29 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Greenwald for Rose Uphoff who died Wednesday, November 26 at Pine Haven in Melrose. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 11 to 12 p.m. Saturday at the church in Greenwald. Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary of Lake Henry will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Friday evening.
Rose Uphoff was born September 18, 1922 in Meire Grove to George and Mary (Kampsen) Loxtercamp. On May 7, 1944 she married Celestine Cel Uphoff. The couple resided in Greenwald where they owned and operated the Greenwald Locker Plant. Rose enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Greenwald, Christian Mothers, American Legion Post 612 Auxiliary of Lake Henry and a former member of Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary of Melrose.
Survivors include her children, Robert Bob (Charlotte) Uphoff of Independence, MO, James (Lee) Uphoff of Greenwald, William Bill (Vicki) Uphoff of St. Cloud, Jeffrey (Lisa) Uphoff of Prior Lake and Joan (Joel) Rademacher of Zimmerman; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Raymond (Ermina) Loxtercamp of Lake Henry and Beata Frieler of Melrose.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Celestine Cel Uphoff on December 31, 1967; grandchildren, John Uphoff, Michael Uphoff and Phillip Uphoff; 10 brothers and; one sister.
