Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Carolyn G. Spaeth age 87, who died Thursday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
Carolyn was born in Meire Grove, MN to William and Mary (Walz) Deters. She married Edward Spaeth on Feb 3, 1937 in St. Cloud. She loved to do handy work especially quilting, crocheting, and baking. She spent a lot of her time volunteering at Assumption Campus and she loved to travel and see new places. Carolyn was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Catholic Aid Association and the Christian Women.
Survivors include her children, Norbert (Theresa) Spaeth of Aitkin, MN, Alvin (Bonnie) Spaeth of Phoenix, AZ, James (Mary) Spaeth of Port Richie, FL, Shirley (Thomas) Jungles of Edina, MN; sister, Sally (Marv) Seyller of New Hampshire, IL; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; sons, Roman and Verne Spaeth; daughter in-law, Melda Spaeth; brothers Leonard, John, Kasper, Joe, and Clarence; sisters Ceil Barten, Loretta Cleveland, Catherine "Katie" Spaeth, and Sue McNeir Hoffman.
