The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Joseph L. Lauer, age 72 of St. Cloud will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 11 at the Church of St. Anthony in St. Cloud. Fr. Peter VanderWeyst will officiate, burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Sunday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud and again after 10:00 AM Monday at the church. St. Anthony parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Joe was born August 3, 1936 to Joseph and Marie (Backes) Lauer in St. Martin. He married Rose Marie Noggle on September 27, 1958 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Joe worked as a carpenter for over 50 years, the last 21 were with Crever Construction. He retired in 2002. Joe loved to spend time with his family. He was always willing to share his time and talents. He left his mark in the many homes he helped build or remodel. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him. Joe was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a former member of the St. Cloud Carpenters Union.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Binky; his children, Jeff (Tammy) Lauer, St. Cloud; John Lauer, St. Augusta and Jason (Kate) Lauer, St. Cloud. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Ulrich Lauer, St. Cloud; Tom (Andrea) Lauer, Royalton; Helen Lauer, St. Cloud, brother-in-law, Leo Saatzer, St. Cloud; and four granddaughters, Ashely, Amber, Stephanie and Madison.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Martha Saatzer and sister-in-law, Eileen Lauer.
