Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose for Roman Ramler who died Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. Joseph's Men's Society will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Roman M. Ramler was born July 29, 1921 in Farming, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Bush) Ramler. He was united in marriage to Kathleen H. Schimnitsch on June 3, 1948 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in St. Stephen, Minnesota. Roman was employed at Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud for 32 years and owned and operated a farm in Albany all of his life until 1991. He loved his huge garden, fishing, playing cards, dancing, telling jokes, driving tractor, taking short trips and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Ramler of Melrose; children, Sandy (Dave) Drahota of Buffalo, Ron (Elaine) Ramler of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Marlene (Clyde) Stangl of St. Cloud, Diane (Louis) Hughes of Sauk Rapids, Robert Ramler of Albany, and Lisa Ramler of St. Cloud; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin Ramler; sisters, Mildred Mueller, Rosie Binek and Delores Philippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence and Ambrose Ramler; and sister, Bernice Senger.
