Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Andrew "Andy" Nicholas Schmitz age 21, who died Thursday as a result of an automobile accident. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Martin Parish Center in St. Martin. The St. Joseph Society will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Arrangements by Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
Andy was born in Paynesville to Math and Linda (Willenbring) Schmitz. He attended Paynesville High School and was a member of the St. Martin Catholic Church.
Survivors include his father, Math and step-mother, Irene; brothers and sisters, John (Debbie) of Willmar, Carl (Gail) of St. Martin, Lisa of Maple Grove, Susan (Roger) Meyer of Spring Hill, JoAnn (David) Meyer of Lake Henry, Kenny of St. Martin and Margaret of Melrose; step-brothers and sisters, Wally (Maureen), Leslie (Brenda) and Larry (Michelle) Thompson, Sandra (Don) Westaby, Linda (Greg) Mueller and Peggy (Chris) Spanier; grandfather, Irmund Willenbring of Richmond and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda; grandparents, George and Mathilda Schmitz and Amanda Willenbring.
