Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Leona A. Donabauer, age 84, of Waite Park and formerly of St. Joseph, who died Sunday at her home. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday and after 12 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral home in St. Joseph. St. Joseph Senior
Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Leona was born September 29, 1917 in Pearl Lake, Minnesota to Hubert and Rose (Schaefer) Schneider. She married Herman Donabauer on July 24, 1943 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park. She worked for Fingerhut for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Joseph Senior Citizens.
Surviving Leona are her children Quentin (Connie) of St. Joseph, Jean (Tom) Nathe of Sauk Centre, Joyce (Roger) Nelson of Maple Grove and Kathy (Ray) Schroeder of Andover, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 brothers Harold of Waite Park, Eddie and David of Holdingford, 3 sisters Sally Schill and Percy Rosha of St. Augusta and LaVerne Hommerding of St. Cloud as well as many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death is her husband (1989) sister Agnes Libbesmeier and brother Victor Schneider.
