Services for Marina E. Plant, age 98, of Melrose who died Wednesday Sept. 26, 2001, at the Pine Villa Nursing Home, will be Saturday at the Pine Villa Nursing Home Chapel with the Reverend Father Ken Thielman officiating. Burial will be at St. Bernard¹s Catholic Church, Cemetery, Ward Springs.
Marina was born on April 15, 1903, to Michael and Anna (Walz) Schlicht. She married Robert Plant in Melrose on January 12, 1932. She was a member of St. Mary¹s Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Christian Mothers and was amember of the Adult Choir for 60 years. Marina worked as a nurse at the Melrose Hospital and the Pine Villa Nursing Home, and was a member of The St Cloud School of Nursing Alumni Assoc. She had been living on her own until last year when she moved to the Pine Villa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Urban and Rose Schlicht, Gene Schlicht, Edwin Schlicht, Dorothy Schlicht; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Tony Nathe, Hilda and Andy Anderson, Marian and Ed Hendricks and Al Nelson.
Marina was survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Schlicht of Melrose, Julian and Ellie Schlicht of St. Louis Park, Martha Schlicht of Freeport, Jeanette Schlicht of Minneapolis; sister, Sr. Viola Irene Schlicht OSB of St. Paul; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Arrangements are with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, Minnesota.
