Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2008 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Lauretta M. Gully, age 91, of Paynesville who died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Reverend Richard Leisen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and after 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. The Christian Women and Daughters of Isabella will pray a rosary at 5:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home in Paynesville.
Lauretta was born December 6, 1916 in Lake Henry, Minnesota to John and Barbara (Wuertz) Fuchs. She married Mike M. Gully on May 2, 1942 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. The couple farmed near Elrosa until 1955 and moved to Paynesville. They owned and operated Tucks Cafe in Paynesville from 1961 until 1973. She was a member of St. Louis Parish, Christian Women and Daughters of Isabella. Lauretta will be remembered for her excellent cooking and for baking the best pies in town. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, fishing and loved to travel in her retirement years.
Lauretta is survived by her son, Allan (Margaret Tchida) of St. Cloud and her brother, Lester Fuchs of Paynesville.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Mike and son, Larry.
