1861 census, living in Spitfields, Whitechapel, Mile end New town. Daughter Maria and son Richard. Father Richard is a Sailor.
1871 census, living in Stepney, son Richard not on census, but have 2 more children now. Elizabeth and Robert. All the family stated as being born in Mile End.
1881 census, living at 1 Hunt Place, Hunt St. with wife and daughter Elizabeth and son Jonathan. Jonathan is stated as being Robert on 1871 census. It is probably Jonathan as there was no Robert born on these dates. Could have been a nickname etc. Maria has left home.
1891 census, Richard is now a ships rigger, Mary a box maker, Elizabeth box maker, her name is now Smith, stated as married cannot find marriage. Probably a single mom. Elizabeths son John Smith is 4. Richard died at end of 1891.
1901 census. Mary is living with daughter Elizabeth and grandson John. Mary and Elizabeth are box makers at home and 14 year old John is a railway van guard. They live at 1 Hunt Court.
