Derek Sneddon comments:
I have been thinking that he could have been working as a confectioner i n his brother's shop, Frederick Willets Davies. As when John Davies die d in 1944 in Glasgow, his occupation was a Herbalist. Yet when John's wif e died in 1934 in Edinburgh, he is listed as being a Confectioner .
As Frederick had the two shops in West Lothian selling Fruit and Confecti onery.
It could be the possible explanation for his change in occupation as I ne ver had him down as a Confectioner. As my mum always said, he went roun d the market stalls including Glasgow selling Herbal medicines.
