Derek,Cornelius (1871) Ruane went on to change the family name to Rowan , and all his kids, who were born in West Calder moved to Shotts, and the y lived in a place called Unity Park in Dykehead Shotts, Unity Park is n o longer there, its the car park of the Co-op shop and the Airdrie Saving s bank. Cornelius married an Isabella Brown and they had quite a few kid s, one called Cornelius, the three of them are all buried in a cemetary i n Torbothie Shotts, I used to live in Shotts, I'm not from there, I jus t lived there for a while, my wife of 30 years is a Shotts lass.To prope r business, Cornelius had a son Hubert Rowan 1898, and he married Agnes L aird 1910, and they had 9 daughters and one son, Grandad Rowan died in 19 84 and Grannie Agnes died in 1989.There's now a whole lot of Rowan cla n kids all running about, but 90% live in England, all over the place, bu t about Birmingham is where most are. I'll leave you with that just now , but get back and let me know where you fit in with the Ruane's-Rowan's. Regards. Fred.
