Hello John,Thank you for replying to my email - and very interesting t o see where we both connect up. As you can see Margaret Shaw and John Buc hanan left these shores and made their home in North Dakota where they be came well known respected members of the community - farming on quite a b ig scale and also building and running the Buchanan Hotel.I now live ju st south of Manchester in England but still have many relatives who liv e in Scotland, south of Glasgow mainly, so still in Lanarkshire. I was i n Scotland this last weekend for a wedding and called to see the villag e where Thomas Gladstone and Janet Buchanan lived for most of their live s together and where I spent many summer holidays when I was young. Thi s is Douglas water, near Lanark. It was a thriving pit village up to th e 1970s and has since become a ghost village - most of the buildings havi ng been pulled down. However, my grandparents house is still standing an d to see it brings back lovely memories.I have not visited Kilsyth ye t in my researches but hope to some time.Kind regardsJean Rowland
