William Davie Forrest

In 1861 William Davie Forrest was in Glasgow as a Cabinet Maker. Willia m seems to have become blind after 1871 and before 1881. He is recorded s o in 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 Census, when he was recorded as tea hawker , firewood merchant and cabinet worker and bolt screener respectively. Ap parently unable to continue in his profession as a Cabinet Maker. He wa s living with his sister Mary Morrison in 1911 at 10 Clyde Road Dumbarton .
He was recorded as a shipyard worker in 1911 at his death. On the death o f his 2 wives he was recorded as cabinet maker (journeyman) in 1870 and 1 892, although in fact he was not practising as such in 189 2 .
He was at 10 Clyde Street, Dumbarton when he died of Chronic inflammatio n of the liver
