Christian Meyer

IMMIGRATION: The Meyer (Mayer) family fled Palatinate to Holland due to religious persecution and to America in abt. 1700 with entire family. They settled in Livingston Manor, NY, in the Schoharie Valley near the Hudson River in 1710. In abt. 1711 they migrated to PA, possibly down the Schuykill River to Perkiomen Creek, where a Christian Miers owned land next to Bishop Henry Funk. They finally settled at Indian Creek, Franconia Twp., Philadelphia Co. (now Montgomery Co.), PA. In 1731 Christian Meyer was granted patent by John Thomas & Richard Penn (sons of William Penn).
