North Sydney, Nov. 12 - A host of friends throughout the district will lea
rn with profound regret of the death of Mrs. Earl Ratchford, 43, who di ed yesterday in the New Waterford General Hospital. Her passing follow ed a brief illness. The former Ada Powell, of this town, she was the daugh ter of John Powell, former resident of North Sydney, but now of New Victor ia. Held in high esteem by a wide spread circle of acquaintences, her pass ing will be heard of with deep regret. In addition to her husbanc, Earl Ra tchford, a native of this town, she is survived by three daughters, Sist er St. Madeline Frances (Yvonne), at Mabou; Shirley, student nurse at Anti gonish and Jacqueline, a member of the staff of the Bank of Nova Scotia, N ew Waterford. Also surviving are her father John Powell, New Victoria a nd one brother, Chester of the staff of the Bank of Commerce at St. John' s, Nfld. The funeral will be held from the residence at New Victoria on Su nday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Nor th Sydney. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W. J. Dooley Fu neral Services, here. The sympathy of friends is offered the family in the ir bereavement.
