Saturday, 1 Jan 1938 -- New Waterford – Joint Installation
Attended by large numbers of the members of the Parent and Auxiliary branc
hes, joint installation of the 1938 slate of officers took place on Thursd ay evening. In attendance also were officers and members of the Glace B ay branches. The installation ceremony was in charge of Cape Breton Presid ent O.S. MALLINSON and was a most impressive one. Striking features of t he session were the presentations of Past Presidents Bades to Neil A. MacE ACHERN and O.S. MALLNSON. The new installed officers were heard in pleasi ng remarks as were several of the visiting members. Reference was ma de to the commendable action of the Glace Bay unit at Christmas and all we re deeply interested in the review of the year's activities given by Comra de Dan MacDONALD. Other visiting representatives who addressed the meeti ng were Messrs. SCOTT, ROACH and KEANE. After the installation an hour w as spent in a pleasant social way and delicious refreshments were serv ed by Mrs. John MILLEY, Mrs. Patrick McPHERSON, Mrs. Thomas GADD, Mrs. Ne il A. MacEACHERN, Mrs. William SPENCER, Mrs. Hugh MUIR, Mrs. E.P. GRAHAM a nd Mrs. Jerome FORTUNE.
