It is about seven miles north of Cheticamp.
Grantees in the area included Joseph White Junior, a native of Cape
Breton Island who received a warrant of survey in 1826. Walter Lawrence
who received a grant in 1868. Other grantees included Maurice AuCoin,
Joseph Cormier, Charles Devereau, Joseph Comus and John Comus.
In 1877 and 1904 schools were constructed here.
