DeBAIE (Palmer), Melda Margaret - 80, Porters Lake, formerly of Owls Head, Halifax Co., passed away peacefully in Twin Oaks Hospital on May 2, 2006. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, a great sister, friend, and loving grandmother. Mom loved music, singing, and spending time with family and friends. Mom was a long-time employee of the City of Dartmouth as a school bus monitor. She was a daughter of the late John and Etta (Weeks) Palmer. Mom is survived by sons, Kirk (Loretta) Newcombe, Newfoundland; Barry (Verna) Newcombe, Porters Lake; Merlin (Debbie), Dartmouth; Bruce (Yvette), Dartmouth; daughters, Cathy (Jim), Dartmouth; Margo (Barry) Tibbo, Porters Lake; sisters, Marcella Fahie, Ship Harbour; Nona Siteman, Lower Ship Harbour; Marie Stevens, Eastern Passage; the loves of her life, her 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Earl; son, Carson; brother, John; sisters, Deborah Marks, Doris Eisan. We would like to thank Dr. R. Machado, Dr. B. Izzard, and the nurses and staff at Twin Oaks Hospital for the great care they gave Mom. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on May 27 at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, Owls Head, Halifax Co. Committal in the church cemetery, Rev. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Matthew's Church Fund or Twin Oaks Hospital. Dear Mom, you have given us your love of life, you have been an inspiration, and will continue to be as you live on in and through us; your example of courage, spirit and strength will remain forever in our hearts. You are our past, present and our future.
