DeBAIE, Annie - 82, Mabou, passed away November 9, 2004, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in North East Mabou, on March 29, 1922, she was a daughter of Angus E. and Catherine (MacPhee) Campbell. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish, Mabou. She graduated from Normal College in Truro and taught school in Mabou Ridge and Halifax County for 14 years. She worked at the Mabou Credit Union for 20 years and had an early retirement due to ill health. She was a member of the CWL and also counted the church collection for a number of years. She enjoyed travelling, a good game of cards and the many family get-togethers over the years. She was a seamstress, knitter and a quilter. Gaelic was her first language and she enjoyed a Gaelic conversation with friends and neighbours. Her grandchildren were very dear to her and they will miss her very much. She is survived by sons, Angus (Mary Jane), Mabou; Albert (Elizabeth), Mabou; daughters, Shirley MacDonald, Mabou; Catherine (Francis) MacDonald, Craigmore; Marilyn (Gary) Nowlan, Pictou; brother, Father John F. Campbell, Toronto; sisters, Margaret (Gerard) MacArthur and Sadie (Robert) Butscher, both of California; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson; brothers, Archie, Jack, Danny, Angus Joe, Anthony; sisters, Sister Catherine Therese (Jessie), Mary Theresa, and Florence; son-in-law, Donald MacDonald. The family will receive visitors today from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, November 11, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in St. Mary's Parish Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday, November 12, at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Church, Father John F. Campbell officiating with assisting priests concelebrating. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch, Juvenile Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral is under the direction of Inverness Funeral Home. May she rest in peace.
