Wayne Lively Mississauga, Ont. - Wayne Lively, 66, of Mississauga, Ont.,
passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Credit Valley Hospital in
Mississauga, after a lengthy illness. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the
late John and Mary Jane (MacPhee) Lively. Surviving are his wife of 44
years, Betty (Pinkney) Lively; daughter, Sharon (Brad Wingfelder); son,
Clint and two grandchildren, Justin and Amanda; four sisters, Virginia
Sudds, Helen (Art) Pettipas, Phyllis Sudds, Gladys (Joe) MacKenzie and one
aunt, Evelyn French; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by
two brothers, Jack and Bud and two sisters, Mary and Katie,
brothers-in-law, Charles and Tom, two nieces, Heather (Sudds) Sarka and
Charlene (Sudds) Geoffredo and two nephews, Gary Sudds and Paul Pettipas.
Wayne always remembered his many friends in Cape Breton. Visitation was
held Oct. 26 and 27 from 7-9 p.m. at Glen Oakes Memorial Chapel. Funeral
mass was held Oct. 28, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church
with Msgr. Joseph Shields officiating. Burial at Glen Oakes Memorial
Gardens. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
J. J. Lively:
John Joseph Lively, 66, of South Bar, died this morning at City Hospital after being in ill health for the past year.
He was employed as a steelworker in the rail mill for 47 years before retiring a year ago.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lively. Besides his wife, the former Mary MacPhee, he is survived by three sons, Jack, Hamilton, Edward, Sydney ; Wayne, Montreal; four daughters, Virginia (Mrs. Charles Sudds), Montreal, Helen (Mrs. Art Pettipas), Coxheath, Phyllis (Mrs. Tom Sudds), and Gladys (Mrs. Joseph MacKenzie), South Bar.
Also surviving are four sisters, Margaret ( Mrs. Jack Moffatt), Katie (Mrs. Joe Stock), Gladys (Mrs. Tim Hawco) and Mrs. Evelyn French, all of Sydney. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by on sister Annie May and a brother Edward.
The body rests at the T. W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George Street, after 7 pm. tonight. Funeral will be held Thursday from St. Alphonsus Church with the time to be announced. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to donate to the Canadian Cancer Fund.
