Aged Resident Passed Away Suddenly
East Bay, Dec 9. - Once more it is our sad duty to chronicle the death of another of our esteemed residents, Mr. Hugh McPhee, who passed away on Saturday night. Although in his 80th year, Mr. McPhee was remarkably strong and active. Only on Saturday morning he, in company with one of his sons, was out fishing. About noon he complained of feeling unwell, and twelve hours later he had departed this life.
Deceased was a kind husband and father, a good neighbour and an exemplary Christian. He died strengthened and consoled by the last sacraments of the Catholic Church, of which he was a devout member.
The funeral took place Tuesday the 8th inst., at 10 a.m. and after High Mass the remains were interred in St. Mary's cemetery. Rev. Father McKeazie ? officiated.
The deceased is survived by a widow, two sons and one daughter at home, and a son residing at Dom. No. 4.
