Funeral services for Edward Vernon "Pete" Lolley, 75, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial will be at the W.O.W. Rosenberg City Cemetery in Rosenberg.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 in the chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
Edward Vernon "Pete" Lolley was born Oct. 8, 1929 in Rosenberg and passed away Dec. 21, 2004 at OakBend Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Henry Lolley Jr.; his mother, Mary Rychlik Lolley Bezecny; his brother, George O. Lolley; and a cousin, Herbert Rychlik.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce Earline Lolley; his son, Gene Lolley and his wife Dorothy; his daughters, Susan Koen and her husband Ted and Darlene Shoemaker and her husband Bruce; his grandchildren: Phillip and Melissa Lolley, Stephen and Kacy Koen, Jeremy, Wesley and Amy Sebesta, and Jennifer and Brett Shoemaker; his great-grandchildren, Kailey and Kristian; his sister-in-law, Helen Lolley; his brother-in-law, Melvin Bezecny; his life-long friend and cousin, Loretta Rychlik; and many other relatives and friends.
Pete, as many knew him, loved to do many things including riding motorcycles, shooting pool, fishing, hunting and gardening. He especially loved to barbecue for his family and friends at which he was the World's Best! With his tools, he could fix or build anything!
He retired from Nalco Chemical Co. in 1987 and became an avid camper enjoying traveling in his RV to various parks and campgrounds. He loved to feed and watch the squirrels, birds and deer. Pete and Joyce made many new wonderful friends around the campfire.
He proudly served in the Korean War as Sgt. 1st Class in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division and was a member of the American Legion. He received numerous awards including marksmanship, sporting events and the Korean War Service Medal from South Korea.
He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Sebesta, Wesley Sebesta, Phillip Lolley, Stephen Koen, Bobby Lolley and Danny Bezecny. Honorary pallbearers are Brett Shoemaker and Joel Fritsch.
For those wishing, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in his name.
