Arthur F. Burke, 79, of Overland Park, KS, passed away, Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Menorah Medical Center. His wife, Catherine L. Burke, 79, passed away, Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Menorah Medical Center. The Mass of Resurrection will be 10 a.m., Monday, August 29, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday at the Amos Family Chapel of Lenexa with a prayer service at 2 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. Arthur and Catherine are survived by their children; Michael F. Burke, Overland Park, KS, Patricia Huelsman, Gardner, KS, Mary L. Kenney, Irvine, CA, Elizabeth Essex, Overland Park, KS, Leigh Ann Geither, Lenexa, KS, and six grandchildren.

Arthur was born in Rutland, VT. He was a machinist for the Bendix Corporation before his retirement. He was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary, the Machinist's Union and the Bendix Retiree's Club. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Gould and Barbara Smith. He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Huestis, Rutland, VT and Nancy Drop, Castleton, VT.

Catherine was born in Blaine, KS. She was a Registered Nurse, working at KU Medical Center's Pediatrics Department and at St. Luke's Hospital in the Nursery. She later worked for the Johnson County Health Department Childcare Licensing Division. She also worked as a patient advocate for various nursing homes in Johnson County. She was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard N. Lolley. She is survived by a sister, Ellen Rangel, Overland Park, KS; a brother, Gregory L. Lolley, Strafford, MO.
