HIGH SPRINGS - Gerald Lee Barton of High Springs died Tuesday at his home after a long illness. He was 33.
Mr. Barton was a performer and singer and a music student at the University of Florida's College of Music.
Born in Detroit, Mr. Barton moved to High Springs eight years ago. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church student group.
Survivors include his parents, Diana and James Barton of High Springs; a sister, Dawn Lee Clark of Orlando; two brothers, James L. Barton Jr. of Orlando and Joseph L. Barton of Canton, Miss.; his maternal grandmother, Beuleh Schneider of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Barton of Bristol, Va.
Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to North Central Florida AIDS Network or to Hospice of North Central Florida.
