Obituary of George Lewis Lolley

George L. Lolley, a retired carpenter, passed away Jan 18, 1998 at the Idaho Veterans Home in Boise.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Jan 22, at Cloverdale Funeral Home.

George was born at Valentine, Nebraska on April 13, 1920, a son of Jack and Anne Nollette Lolley.  He was educated and raised in South Dakota and Nebraska.  He joined the U.S. Army and served in the 17th Quartermaster of the 9th Armored Division in the European Theater from October 1941 and was honorably discharged December 1945.
  
He married Maxine McDowell at Winner, SD on Feb 14, 1946.  To this union two sons were born.  They lived in Nebraska and South Dakota before moving to Idaho in 1951.

He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Meridian, ID. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and recently golf.  He enjoyed the outdoors, the mountains and getting firewood in the fall.  George was a hard working, honest person who would help anyone in the world.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce Lolley and Michael G. Lolley, three grandsons, Pat, Adam and Brandon Lolley; four brothers, John, Joe, Pat and Mick.  He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine; his parents and one brother.
