Obituary of Martha Stumpf Tvaruzka

Martha Stumpf-Tvaruzka, age 62, died on Sunday, May 23 2010 under the care of Ministry Hospice with her family by her side. Martha was born on January 29, 1948 to George G. and Susan Stumpf.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1962 and Rhinelander High School in 1966. She continued her studies at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire where she graduated in 1970 with a B.S. in nursing. She spent her entire nursing career in the field of geriatrics with several years in the position of Director of Nurses, a position she held until her retirement.

She married Dr. Joseph Tvaruzka on July 25, 1986 in Stillwater, Minnesota. They lived their entire life in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Martha is survived by her husband, Joseph; sister, Peggy (Charles) Glover; step-children, Helen Wasmer, Michael (Kathryn) Tvaruzka and Judy Tvaruzka; step-grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandra Wasmer, Ella, Anna, and Simon Tvaruzka, and Tara Tvaruzka; niece and nephews, Nathan (Laura) Glover, Tura (Daniel) Tominov and Nicholas Glover. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Susan Stumpf.

A Memorial Mass for Martha will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona with Sister Mary Jane officiating. Inurnment will in Nativity of Our Lord Cemetery.
