Death
S. W. Carlton Dies at 42 in Fort PierceFort Pierce — Sidney Wright Carlton, 42, member of a pioneer St. Lucie county family, cattleman, World War II veteran, and affiliated with other local interests, died unexpectedly early Thursday evening got a heart attack.
Stricken at the Elks Club, of which he was a member, he was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was dead on arrival.
Mr. Carlton was past president off the St. Lucie County Cattlemen’s Association, member of the Florida State Cattlemen’s Association, member of the Pelican Yacht Club, and served in the tank corps in the war.
Born and reared in this community, he is survived y his wife, Jacqueline; two sons, Richard and Walter L.; a daughter, Jo Ann; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wright Carlton; and his sister Mrs. Elmer Teague, all of Fort Pierce.
Arrangements are in charge of the Yates Funeral home.
