Military
Bucky was a fighter pilot based on Iwo Jima where he flew a P-51. His plane was shot down by along the Japanese coast near Yokohama. He bailed out, but the altitude was too low and he was killed. His remains are interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in the Punch Bowl Crater on the island of Hawaii. He received an Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart.Endnotes
