Elsie Cornett Lawson

Stage and screen actress, Elsie Lawson, was born 30 Sep 1899 in Elk Creek, Grayson, Virginia. She appeared in at least four silent movies, but preferred the stage. In 1919 she married composer, Rudolf Friml, and they had a son, William. The marriage lasted only a few years and Elsie later married William Hugo Smalley. She died in a fire in her home at 992 Napoli Dr., Pacific Palisades, California on 23 Nov 1942 at the age of 43.
