Abigail Rogers

Abigail Rogers Yates was mentioned in the 1705 will of her grandfather Thomas Paine. John Yates was a proprietor of Harwich in 1713, served as constable about 1716, bought land there in 1717, served on a church committee in 1719, and resided in the "Fifth Remove" in 1726.

Administration of the estate of John Yates, late of Harwich, was granted to Abigail Yates of Harwich 20 October 1730. On 18 April 1732 she was made guardian of mior children of John Yates: Deborah, Hannah, John, and Mercy.

Abigail Yates was called a widow of Harwich on 9 December 1731 and 18 January 1745. On 20 May 1747, John Yates and other heirs of "Mr. John Yates, deceased, " conveyed interests in land at Harwich, John signing for "sisters Mercy and Hannah," the other grantors being Crips Rogers, Elkanah Rogers, Asa Mayo and Jermiah Nickerson.
