Mary, wife of Joshua Hopkins, consented to settlement of the estate of her father Daniel Cole of Eastham on 15 January 1694.

Son Joshua Hopkins was named in the 1682 will of his father Giles Hopkins. Joshua was a shoemaker and farmer residing on the east side of Town Cove at Eastham. He was admitted freemen there 3 June 1690. Josiah Paine, Cape Cod historian, described Joshua as a very wealthy man, owning land in Eastham, Harwich, and Chatham.

The will of Joshua Hopkins of Eastham, dated 14 May 1734 and proved 31 Aug 1738, called him a widower and old in age. He mentioned sons Elisha and Joshua; daughters Lydia Hopkins and Phebe Bixbe; grandson Joseph Bixby; daughter Hannah Paine; grandsons Ebenezer Paine, John Taylor , and Edward Taylor, and daughters Abigail Taylor and Mary Smith.
