Henry Hayman came to Somerset County, Maryland, prior to May, 1664 from Gloucester County, Virginia. Grants of 50 acres each were given to Henry, his wife Elinor, and Henry Jr. on 15 August 1666. The family lived at plantation called "Second Choice" at head of Great Monie Creek.
