Obituary
Carl “Doc” Waterman, age 71, died March 18th at Silver City, New Mexico after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Waterman is survived by two brothers: Fran and Phillip, his wife: Deborah, and two children: Rachelle and Geoffrey. Doc is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned the Purple Heart and many campaign ribbons. He was born and grew up in Kellogg, Idaho on February 23, 1944 where he worked with his father and brothers in construction and learned to value the art of hunting and fishing.
He lived in Craig, Alaska from 1985 to 2012 where he worked for Klawock Heenya Corp and became the Klawock City Administrator. He also served on the Craig’s Planning and Zoning committee, the Craig City School Board, the POW Chamber of Commerce, then became a Realtor for Prince of Wales Island. He valued community service and a good work ethic. Doc also thought highly of being a steward of the earth so many of us are planting trees in his honor.
