Benjamin Angell
(March 9, 1760 - September 28, 1826)
Benjamin Angell was the youngest son of Abiah and Freelove Smith Angell. He farmed for awhile with his brother Gideon in New Hampshire then returned to Smithfield Rhode Island where he married Lydia Benchley. He didn't own land but tended farms. He pushed education to his children, son George was a graduate of Brown University, grandson George Thorndike an attorney and founder of the ASPCA.
