Mathias was born in Lancaster County Pennsylvania in 1750. He was part of the first US Census in 1790 . He probably farmed, was a landowner and he married Verona Meinzer. In his 40s he was in the Pennsylvania Militia, Second Company, First Battalion, Seventh Regiment, Lancaster county. Mathias and Verona are most likely n the 1830 census, both around 80 years old. There are no death or burial records for either Verona or Mathias.
