William Speedy

(1789 - February 2, 1872)

William Speedy was born in Pennsylvania in 1783, his parents are unknown and were probably from Ireland or Scotland. He was in Ohio and in the War of 1812 there. He married Elizabeth Glenn, also of Ohio in 1818, they farmed and had 6 sons. William as a widow in 1850 and by 1870 was in Shell Rock Iowa with son Manford. William lived to age 89 and is buried in at Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, Iowa.
