Henry Mockford

(February 5, 1831 - April 11, 1905)

Henry Mockford was born in Cornwall enlgand in 1831. He was a miller like his father. He married Philippa Johns in 1853. Henry left for America in 1854, his family joined him a year later. Henry continued as a miller, was a flour dealer and worked at the Johnson Harvester Company which would become part of Massey Ferguson.

Henry was 22 and worked as a miller. Philippa was 24 and listed as a ‘spinster’. Their fathers Richard Mockford, also a miller and John Johns a gardener, are witnesses on the record

Death

In the Iowa Recorder, Richard is called to New York because his father is ill, his father dies the same evening Richard arrives.
