Peter Tefft was born to Joshua and Sarah Tefft. His mom Sarah died when Peter was a baby and may have been the daughter of a Mr Greene and an Indian woman. His dad Joshua was hanged as a traitor when peter was 4. Peter's uncle Samuel, Jireh Bull and Mr Greene who may have been his grandfather were named as guardians. Peter married Mary Witter and they lived in Stonington, Connecicut
