Margaret Shippen was married to the Benedict Arnold. She came from wealthy Philadelphia family who supported the Loyalist or Torries. She is said to have played a role in Benedict's actions as a traitor. They are both buried at Battersea, London Borough of Wandsworth, Greater London, England.

Benedict and Margaret tomb at St. Mary’s of Battersea is a Georgian-era stone church overlooking the Thames, with a monument and stained glass window, in the crypt, basement of the church.Endnotes
