"He was a Methodist and was a longtime Boy Scout and Explorer adult leader in Catlin and Danville. He also served as mayor of Catlin for five years from 1948 to 1953. He was past president of the Catlin Lions Club and the Vermilion County Amateur Radio Club.
"He graduated from Carmel High School in Chicago in 1928."
Newspaper story announcing Glenn's retirement, says: "He owned and operated the Lincoln Advertising Agency in Danville and also has worked with Grubb Engraving Co. of Champaign and Terre Haute Engraving Co.
"Gill first job was as an errand boy in a railroad office in Chicago where he was born. He later worked in graphic arts with John and Oliver Engraving Co., also in Chicago. He then owned his own photofinish plant in that city until moving to Terre Haute [Perrysville, Ind.].
"Gill's hobbies include photography and amateur radio and he is former president of the Vermilion County Amateur Radio Club. He also is past president of the Catlin Lions Club and is a member of St. James Methodist Church."
