Obituary says he "came to Ohio in 1875, lived in Greenwich and Lorain for 13 years when he moved to Savannah. He was a member of the Friends church in Greenwich. He was also a member of Co. A, 10th Regiment, P. V. V. and saw service in the defense of his country."Census

Abraham Reiff filed for an invalid pension, application no. 602,696, certificate 733233, from Ohio.On 15 Apr 1877, the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions, requested records from the War Department "as to service disability, and hospital treatment of Abraham Reiff." Reiff claimed "he was disabled by diarrhrea and hemorrhoids contracted from exposure at Martinsburg, Va., about May 15" 1861. Also deafness from extreme heat while on march from Martinsburg to Harper's Ferry. and was treated in hospitals of which the names, location, and dates of treatment are as follows: Regimental Hospital."
The War Department, Adjutant General's Office replied on 13 June 1887 that Abraham Reiff was reported "on muster-in roll dated April 24th 1861 present. Mustered out with the compy at Harrisburg, Pa.. July 31, 1861. Muster-in and muster-out roll the only rolls on file. . . . The records of this office furnish no evidence of disability at time Specified. Regtl hospl records not on file."
