Obituary transcribed on the website of the Mennonite Church USA Historical Committee from the Herald of Truth, Vol. XXV, Number 22, November 15, 1888, page 350-351. He was "a faithful member of the Mennonite church for 15 years. He was peaceful and quiet, gentle and loving to all around him, and had won the respect of all who knew him. Services by Michael Rohrer and D. M. Irvin, from Mark 4:26,29."
