Ross Lee Carrigan

"Early in the days of the local tobacco market he was one of the principal haulers of burley from the warehouses to local redrying plants with horse drawn vehicles. Later he used motorized trucks for the same enterprise. After he retired from the tobacco hauling business he engaged in farming but had been retired for more than five years. He was never married."

His obituary says he was "known to have suffered from a mild coronary condition for nearly five years but it did not impair him in the pursuit of his usual activities. Yesterday (5 Dec) he had a mild seizure at his home . . . and at the insistence of relatives he went to his brother's home.
