A news story in the Rockford, Illinois, Morning Star (26 Nov 1938, p. 2, col. 6) reports that Mrs. Jacob Voreis killed her two children and then herself. The coroner "reported today a farm mother, apparently mentally unbalanced by brooding over her husband's death a year ago, had shot fatally her son and daughter and then killed herself at their home near here (Argos, Ind.)"Endnotes
